"cnn tonight." i'm don lemon. this is our breaking news right now. the outrage protests have taken to the streets all around the country. this is the fourth night they're doing this. they're doing it over the death of george floyd. you saw protesters and police facing off near the cnn center in atlanta. that's where nick is on the ground there. there's a curfew that is imposed just about an hour ago in minneapolis, but protesters are still on the streets there after tear gas and flash bangs were fired into crowds. and then there is the standoff -- take a look at this. this is brooklyn at -- protesters at the barclays center in brooklyn starting to cool down now. but we're watching it right out -- happening right out in the open. and you can see they were trying to cross a police line and police now are there standing, holding forth. this is all happening as dauphidauphierek chauvin, he is the ex-officer, we saw with his knee on george floyd's neck while he was screaming, begging for his life. that e

cnn's martin savage with the latest. >> this was the damage done to cnn center by friday. by saturday night the building had been pretty much spared, but the city of atlanta wasn't. it was still another night of tension, tear gas and protests. one of the most serious events, though, is when a -- police officer's condition is unknown but the person driving the atv has been taken into custody. it was a very different atmosphere here tonight mainly because of two things. you had a curfew that went into effect in the city of atlanta at 9:00 p.m., and you had a much heavier and much stronger police presence. take a look, this is still what is leftover from that presence tonight. you had not just police officers but officers that came in from surrounding counties and areas, and then on top of that, of course, you had the georgia national guard that was here as well. there have been at least 50 arrests made tonight. the most serious moment came when that curfew went into effect at 9:00. police with a strong show of force firing tear gas, pushing away a smaller crowd of protesters

and then they arrested our cnn crew. i mean, all of this is just obviously demands a lot of answers. >> well, obviously command and control is lacking. i mean, it's an issue. one of the things, when you're planning your response to a major protest or event like you had in minneapolis, one of the things you talk about is media. where do you want them to be. where are you going to put them. usually your pio or someone like that is the person in charge of that. as long as they cooperate, which clearly he was cooperating, you just move them along. i don't understand this at all. now, last night with the police station burning, that caught people off guard, they did the right thing by getting people out of there so no one would be harmed. i don't know why they did not respond during the fires. maybe they didn't have sufficient resources. fire department will not go to a scene not secured. that's not surprising at all. obviously, that presents a problem because of the major fire, possibility of it spreading and all that kind o

you are live in the "cnn newsroom." across the nation, states are feeling out their reopening strategies. by monday, all but two will have begun reopening or easing coronavirus restrictions. but guidance varies from place to place. on california beaches, for example, picnics and sunbathing are not allowed, but all the way across the country, on new jersey's beaches, plenty of sunbathers relaxing as part of the state's dry run today ahead of memorial day weekend. activities like going to the beach or going to a restaurant may give people a taste of that pre-pandemic life, but one major indicator of a return to normalcy in america is still on the horizon. sports. nfl commissioner roger goodell announcing teams can reopen facilities starting tuesday as long as they meet local qualifications. but coaches and players may have to wait until next month to return. >>> amid the reopen push, the number of new cases of coronavirus appears to be stabilizing in most states, but cdc director dr. robert redfield warns that the u.s. de

cnn's dr. sanjay gupta says even a small rate of wrong results could be dangerous. >> this is a study that came out of nyu, they looked at 30, 35 samples, somewhere in there. the failure rate is concerning. abbott has commented on this saying they're looking into it. maybe the tests weren't being performed correctly. this is obviously a significant sort of test because it could give results really quickly. if you're waiting days for your test results and you end up having the virus and you're out there spreading it, that's concerning. this can give results in 15 minutes. even before this study which still needs to be peer reviewed, abbott needs to look into this more, there were studies that said they could have a false negative rate of 15 to 25%. if 100 people have the infection, they all get the test. if you have a falls negative rate of 15%, 15 people are told you don't have the virus, they actually do. if you are in a hospital and they get put into a covid negative part of the hospital, now
