"cnn newsroom" starts right now. >> welcome, everyone. we are learning new details about friday's fatal knife attack near london bridge in london which is being declared an act of terrorism. police say a man and a woman were killed, three other people wounded and taken to the hospital. the attacker, who has been killed by police, has been identified as 28-year-old usmman khan. he was convicted in 2012 of a foiled terror plot and was released from prison last year. the video of the incident is disturbing. police do believe that the attack began in a place called fish monger's hall where khan was attending an event sponsored by cambridge university. not clear yet exactly why he was there. khan then ran to nearby london bridge where passers by wrestled him to the ground. police quickly moving in. the. >> one witness said khan appeared to have two knives, one of them taped to his hand. no one knew at the time that the bomb vest he was wearing was a fake. in the aftermath, london's lord mayor praising the people who took action. >> members of

this is "cnn newsroom." >>> thank you again for joining us. developing overnight, we have new developments for you on this same story regarding the impeachment inquiry. newly released documents give us a clearer view of how president trump's personal lawyer rudy giuliani coordinated his efforts in ukraine, through the white house. and it's coming directly from the u.s. state department. the information results from the freedom of information lawsuit filed by the group called american oversight. email exchanges spell out how the white house helpedarrange a phone call between giuliani and u.s. secretary of state mike pompeo. this took place the day after giuliani handed over materials with unproven claims about former vice president seen here, joe biden and his son hunter. documents show that mike pompeo spoke with giuliani briefly twice in late march. the first time occurring before giuliani handed over that information. it was the second conversation facilitated by the white house. for that call, giuliani's assistant reached out to president
