there is a movement underway in citizens united to pass the amendment in the constitution cn that would say specifically they help in the constitution and only belong to natural people and not corporations or businesses. that's received a lot of support about 16 states and a couple hundred municipalities for such a constitutional amendments so these days they take away from their rights but there've been justices throughout history going back to roger tawney or the great liberal hugo black and the new deal era that argue they shouldn't have their rights protected in the constitution and the supreme court take back some of that precedence. >> when you look at the current court make a what do you see? >> we have a conservative court. although we talk about the the justices being liberal or conservative being appointed by a democrat or republican, we find something that unites the justices throughout history is that they are generally business friendly. the phenomenon that i study in my book is the self-conscious claiming of constitutional protections and giving them constitutional protect
