thousands of people lining the stre pride from coast to coast this weekend. gay pride parades were held in new york, san francisco, minneapolis and other cities. the parades celebrated diversity but also protested prejudice and exclusion. in new york - chelsea manning celebrated her first pride event as a free woman. the transgender former u-s army intelligence analyst waved to crowds from the american civil liberties union float. manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison for leaking classified documents to wikileaks. formerly bradley manning, she underwent gender reassignment while behind bars. former president obama commuted her sentence in january. she was released last month. happening today - a sign of summer in d-c. the marion barry youth employment program kicks off. this morning, d-c mayor muriel bowser will celerate the first day by announcing 50-thousand dollars in new scholarships. 13-thousand d-c teens and young adults will participate in this year's six-week program. it was created by the late mayor marion barry more than 30 years ago. mayor bo
