we get the latest tonight from kelly cobiella. >> reporter: on the streets of the west bank today, a funeral and anger. palestinians buried two men, including a teenager, killed by an israeli soldier during violent clashes on friday. he was one of thousands protesting this, a palestinian family's home firebombed in the early hours of friday morning as they slept. neighbors heard their screams, and pulled the parents and their 4-year-old son from the flames. the 18-month-old ali couldn't be saved. >> i did my best. but i didn't help him. he died. >> reporter: the word "revenge" was spray painted on an outside wall. police say it's a so-called price tag attack by jewish extremists angry at palestinians and israelis called it terrorism. israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu ordering security forces to find the attackers. >> we're shocked. we're outraged. we condemn this. there is zero tolerance for terrorive, wherever it comes from. >> reporter: but the palestinian prime minister said israel is to blame. our itn partner daron vincent spoke to him at the scene. >> the prime minister

nbc's kelly cobiella has the latest. >> reporter: ayoub el khazzani, barefoot and blindfolded, was led into the french courthouse today, where he was charged with attempted murder, attempted mass murder, and membership in a terrorist organization. "this was premeditated and targeted," the prosecutor said, detailing el khazzani's alleged arsenal. an akm assault rifle, nine clips fully loaded with 270 rounds, an automatic luger m-80 handgun and a loaded clip, a box cutter, a bottle of gasoline, and a cell phone. the prosecutor said el khazzani bought a $170 first-class ticket and while on board listened to a youtube clip calling on the faithful to take up arms. on what appears to be his facebook page one post calling france a terrorist civilization and a criminal state. investigators are still looking into whether el khazzani acted alone and who supplied the money and weapons. >> what we don't really know is the degree to which someone directed him to do this plot, the degree to which he decided to do this much more under his own volition, or what the kind of overarching plan was. >> rep

our kelly cobiella has more from paris for us. kelly, good evening. >> reporter: good evening to you, lester. he is a 51-year-old academic and musician living here in paris. he's in the hospital tonight, but once he recovers he'll receive the same medal as the other americans, france's legion of honor, the top medal for bravery. still dressed in their vacation khakis, americans alek skarlatos, spencer stone, and anthony sadler received a thank you from a grateful france. french president francois hollande called them heroes, but one was missing. mark moogalian, a french american who was shot during the attack. for the first time today moogalian's wife told french radio her husband's story. "i thought he was going to die," she says. moogalian sees the gunman fighting with a french passenger and rushes to help. he grabs the ak-47, turns, and is shot in the back. american spencer stone hears the gunshot, runs toward the gunman, and gets him in a choke hold. the attacker pulls out a box cutter. stone, skarlatos, and sadler beat the at

"we can only hope the people on board have survived," she said. on board the 27-year-old aircraft, 44 adults, 3 children, 2 babies, and 5 crew members. it took off from the airport at 2:22 p.m. local time, bound for oksibil. at one point the pilot radios in that the visibility is too poor to land. it's the last communication. the flight never arrives. indonesia's head of air transportation told reporters that villagers spotted the plane. and that it had crashed 15 miles from its destination. into the mountains and dense jungle of eastern indonesia, an area known for low clouds and fog. to make matters worse, heavy rain and winds were moving through. but there was no distress call. >> if, in fact, they're in the side of a mountain, as is reported, they may not have recognized where they were, and that impact may have been as much a surprise to them as anything else. >> reporter: it's

kelly cobiella is standing by in london with the very latest.d morning to you. >> good morning, alex. villagers in this remote part of papua reportedly saw a plane flying low then crash into a mountain, the very latest. search and rescue teams are heading to that area close to the destination airport. they plan to begin searching at dawn in about ten hours. this was a local carrier, trigana air service. a twin turbo prop plane. 44 adults, five children, five crew members on board. all of them indonesian. the plane was flying from the provincial capital of jayapura to oksibil. the pilot said the visibility was too poor to land. there was very bad weather in the area at the time. heavy rain. strong winds, fog. and it's a difficult place to fly and search as well, alex. dense jungle and mountains. in fact, some planes that have gone down there have never been found. but at this hour it does appear that villagers near the destination airport, about 15 miles from the destination airport saw the crash, saying the plane flew into a mountain. we'll keep

nbc's kelly cobiella is following the story for us in london. kelly, any update on the condition of those injured? >> reporter: hi, frances, nothing so far from u.s. pacific command but the japanese government said today that two members of their special response unit, a group of japanese who were onboard and training with the u.s. military, were hurt. one has broken bones, the other cuts. but we have no details beyond that, no details on the other five. the pentagon is calling this a hard landing. it happened about 20 miles off the coast of okinawa during a training exercise with japanese. the h-60 helicopter came down on the tech of that u.s. naval cargo ship, red cloud. you can clearly see the tail broken in two. japanese patrol boats and helicopters were sent out to search for the helicopter crew at first, but that call for help was cancelled. u.s. pacific command said seven of the 17 onboard were injured. at least two of them, as i mentioned, japanese. all were taken to a u.s. military hospital on okinawa. frances, the cause of this is stil
