we have a question from supervisor cohen. commissioner? supervisor cohen: thank you very much. good morning to my fellow commissioners. good morning. i have a follow-up question on and the local issues section that specifically relates to what your talking about. i was a little unclear. are you telling me that the transportation authority is pulling out of supporting transportation around that area and you will be yielding to the mayor's office of budget? >> no, quite the contrary. we have a long-term commitment already made to the completion of the station at the end of the third street line. that is essentially pending assignment that we have on that. that is at the subject of a long-term process and study. it is also linked to the bi- county study to try to sort out transportation in the entire southeast corner of the county and its connection to development opportunities south of the county line. we have a longstanding commitment to do the right infrastructure investment from the sources we have but also to team up with the jurisdictions in san mateo county to be about to e

supervisor cohen: thank you. next speaker. >> hello, supervisors. i am here on behalf of the san francisco arts democratic club. my riding may not be pertinent or in time to e-mail to you, but i do have something for future reference. we are definitely in support of the legislation at its core. the original rezoning was a fantastic in a ground-breaking idea, and we had the opportunity to expand this on a much greater scale with concerns that include areas that are not specific, including ones that have shown an interest in significant development, but we have gone from what was approved through a great equalization, giving opportunities for public art in a community space much needed funding to provide services to new residents and businesses that, when i look at the map as presented today, is a tiny fraction of the city. our concern about this is how far back we have pulled this. with the non-inclusion of residential projects, several of which are referenced at the bottom of this document, we are seeing a return

supervisor cohen: one last thing. last saturday at the bayview opera house, there was a very thoughtful conversation led by your team and a few of the planners discussing the future of transportation in the southeast part of the city. i want to compliment your team. it was a healthy turnout and very diverse. one of the issues that mr. da costa raises is about the community not being informed. judging by what i saw in the opera house for several hours, it was a good cross-section. so you're getting better. >> thank you, commissioner. on the issue of information, there is information available on our website, the ntc website, the mou, and high-speed rail. of course, the entire business plan was approved on the california high speed rail authority, and that is available on their website. these are public documents. the entire emphasis of approving a business plan is that it now will be reviewed by the entire legislature for an approval needed in the next mother of two. so while there is a lot of arcane detail in it, the

supervisor cohen -- and her aid and i talk two or three times a day. she has been a great supporter of bayview. and she works with us not just as a buffer, but on a collaborative spaces. we act as a catalyst to the community to expedite things through the city bureaucracy, either through supervisor cohen's office arthur other city agencies to help people in the community. the other day we were in this room with jeff adache and a group called be magic. it was enthusiastic. we had a group of police officers with a public defender 's group talking about issues of concern. talking about the plaza. i was struck by the fact that under normal circumstances, we would not even be talking to jeff adache unless we were under cross-examination. [laughter] that is is an example of some things we do. the san francisco empowerment center. those two women were here. they were more than constructively critical of me at a community meeting be it today. so i reached out to them for a meeting. we're meeting on april 29. we will have officers who speak cantonese and mandar

supervisor cohen: hello, director. a couple questions less on golden gate park, wanting to switch gears a little bit. i am curious to know the difference between allocated resources and how it compares to golden gate park. >> is the second largest park in the city's jurisdiction. it is a hub for numerous communities. it is about 1/4 the size of golden gate park. but it is not resources anywhere nearly as well. we have somewhere between three and five partners. approximately 30 in golden gate park. it does have less landscape, it has more natural areas. the need is very different. our approach is that our parks system, it is broken up into park service areas that are not directly aligned with one supervisor oriole district. we have golden gate park as one park service area. and all of the park service areas are equally staffed. our parks have different needs, depending upon the topography, the type of activity, the type of usage, and we take very seriously the responsibility to make sure that all of our parks are gettin
