supervisor cohen: thank you. supervisor chu: i just wanted to point out, doing quick math, in terms of state actions, we talk about what the actions mean to our local government, in terms every development activities alone, we are not talking any additional cuts. impact to the general fund is roughly $32 million over the two years to absorb some of these unenforceable activities or the growth in enforceable activities. i just want to make sure that we are aware that the state has cost us an additional $32,000,000.40 redevelopment activity work. >> to clarify briefly, i think in the first year you are calculating that number is probably correct. in the second year, that top line on page 10, general fund impact successor were compared to fy11-12, that 2.8 and 2.5, that takes into account the growth in the second year of required tax increment to the agency. i do not think you would want to add the cost of the enforceable obligations in the second year as a state-imposed cost. nonetheless, the point is still a good

supervisor malia cohen, supervisor carmen chu. and the other members for their support in making public safety a priority. the president is here somewhere. and the rest of the police commission. this is just a tremendous day for san francisco. we have made tremendous inroads in impacting violent crime over the last few years. it is because of our staffing and the community support to do it through the community policing in the engagement of young people. this will allow us to keep doing that. we're going to lose close to 300 officers with the sunset of drop, and maybe another 100 officers before the summer of 2015. this will dramatically impact that. what the academy is is 29 weeks for entry level officers. eight weeks for lateral transfers. that includes a one-week fire arm training, one-week vehicle operation steny, one-week of officers of rival, and then continued use of force and physical training throughout. -- one-week vehicle operation training, one week of officer survival. and community policing. the mayor mentioned gary.

supervisor cohen? supervisor cohen: thank you. i want to follow up on a couple of questions that supervisor kim raised earlier with regard to code enforcement. you said you increase your code enforcement team. from what? >> this is about 10 years ago, and a double that. i would say it was 95 to six range in we went to 10 to 12. -- i would say it went from the five to six range. and there has to be a referral process. there are certain cases that are coded for some cases that do not have to go through the administrative process, and my office just takes them. there are other cases where you have a notice of violation on a have the ability issue or housing issue that you have to exhaust your administrative remedies before a lawsuit can be filed. so we rely on the department of building writ -- building inspection tour for those cases to us before we can file legation on those cases. that is the law. we have seen a decrease in the number of cases over the last several years that have either gone through the nov process are who have b

peter cohen. >> good evening, commissioners. our involvement with this project has been very focused on the affordable housing. it is not directly in our area, but the affordable housing issues affect all of us in the upper market. we went to a very long one plan five-year of trying to come up with a housing program that was a win-win for everyone. we have been pitted, open house senior affordable units versus bmr on-site units, which is a false dichotomy. the developer came together with us and we thought planning was with us, to, to agree that we would have all 50 bmr's in the project fully. that is what we came here to support. only if it is a firm commitment to the full 50. i came in a little late and i do not know what the story is. my understanding is that there is some understanding -- i can tell you my organization will not supported if it is a range. hrc worked very hard on this, too. we came here to support a project that was 50 bmr's. if that is a technical glitch that we can fix, great. otherwise, it is a great proje
