robert coleman. beautiful finish to the day with a nice clear sky as the breezes kicked up.emperatures now cooling off. we are down to 50s, just about everywhere in the state. naval air station 61. the winds from the northwest around ten to 15, steady but gusting higher, a few gusts at the top of the hour, closer to 20, add ten, maybe 15 miles an hour. it'll be a breezy morning for all the marathon runners, 50 degrees, not much above 50 for the early race. then we will continue to look for a slow warm up but still breezy weather through the rest of the day. across the area, skies generally clear. couple of stray showers west of us. the bottom line is the big ugly weather maker pushing north and east and clearing out the sky and big front now off shore. windy, dry weather continuing to funnel in. kind of a chapstick situation if you will. breezy and very dry over the next two days. as we look at the trend most of the weather will stay well north of us, like toward new york state. a few high thin clouds offer the weekend and sunday will be less windy. all the tailgaters, getti

. >> joining me now, nbc's tehran bureau chief ali arouzi is in studio as well as evan coleman. it's good to have you both. a lot to talk about. evan, i want to start with you. federal officials have described this as shocking. say they haven't seen this kind of activity out of iran since the '70s or '80s. does the legitimacy of this surprise you? >> we haven't seen the evidence yet. there's a lot more to this. we've heard a lot of affirmations from senior u.s. officials, we haven't seen the proof in the pudding. the doj doesn't usually launch charges unless they have a lot of evidence. one of the key issues though is how closely is this tied into the qods force, the revolutionary guard corps? the one indicator we have there may be something to this is the $100,000 that was wired to barng here in new york. that's a lot of money for anybody involved in a terrorist plot. in al qaeda terrorist plots you rarely see that much money. where is it coming from? how did they get that level of cash if they weren't working at the highest levels of the government of iran? >> very good point.
