zac sos reporting live for us tonight outside the oakland coliseum. zach. thank you. also on this opening day, two local groups, the oakland united coalition and the oakland 68, urged the alameda county county board of supervisors to sell their stake in the coliseum to the city of oakland. the group say they believe this would help fans, quote, take control back of this ballpark. they say such a move would bring in jobs, affordable housing and other opportunities for residents. oakland 68 board member quintana. branch said, we have a right to control our own greatest assets, especially when they are currently being controlled by folks who don't care about our town. we call upon the alameda county board of supervisors to stop the current course of action and instead prioritize the interests of the community they are sworn to serve. the oakland a's coming up short in tonight's season opener. the san francisco giants, also with a tough loss on their road opener in san diego. we will have highlights from both games coming up a little bit later in sports. and to stay on to

the last meeting that they held regarding the team's lease and the sale of the coliseum. it said 2 of went well right now the team is considering signing three-year lease extension. however, the city of oakland is suggesting that in return for that extension, team leave behind its branding and logos when it does officially leave the east bay. now, it also wants the team to play an active role when it comes to the mlb bringing an expansion team back to the city or excuse me to the city, actually, i should say. and when it comes to the sale of the coliseum, alameda county officials want the team to sell its half of it to the african american sports and entertainment group in oakland. more details are set to be discussed about that today along with increases and changes to the current lease agreement in regards to how much the a's pay and the current revenue sharing right now, the team's last payment, a 45 million dollars for its portion of the coliseum to the county of alameda. he's due in april, although the title of that may not be handed over right away. and that's due t

looking live now at the oakland coliseum, where tomorrow is opening day for both the oakland a's and the san francisco giants . the giants, though, start on the road. the a's open at the coliseum, and perhaps for the very last time, the team is planning to move to las vegas. and a lot of frustrated a's fans are planning to stage an opening day boycott right outside the coliseum. that boycott is being organized by the fan group last dive bar. earlier today on the four, we spoke with brian johansen, one of the organizers. he says they're urging fans to skip the game and join a protest and tailgate right there in parking lot b at the coliseum. >> we're hoping to get 15 to 20,000 people in that parking lot, and it's going to be a huge, huge party. and basically it's an opportunity for people that weren't going to give their money to fisher anyways, to have an opportunity to come together, celebrate as fans, we got tons of activities, planned. there's going to be food, there's going to be games, there's tons of giveaways. >> johansen says tomorrow's protests will also kick off what is bei
