and and they did not mention the collaborativive that directly connects the community to the services. >> thank you. >> next speaker? >> and so, i did read part of the grand jury report, and so i wanted to make a few points about it and first off, yeah, i mean, that i do understand, the room for improvement but i also want to say echoing back what she just mentioned is that it is a really innovative model in the community and especially in our community, and i work with a lot of chinese and the new immigrants who do not really understand and know that there is you know, a code issues and there are housing codes, and they have rights to access to, for example, like he, and housing, and so, a lot of them, cultural and also a fear of retaliation, really inhibts them from wanting to report and call through to want to make a report about it. and so and at the same time, that i think for some of the owners in the community who don't speak english very well, when they see it and they hear about the governments and they are fearful and part of it is education to the owners and so for us havin

collaborativive learning, collaborative decision-making and collaborative management. and this process has been a true collaboration, bringing together the staff and the board, government agencies, neighborhood associations, our fellow san francisco museums and many other con stitcies. >> raising the money to turn this bold vision into a reality was a true labor of love for the board. two factors made our job actually quite easy. first, everyone in the bay area loves the exporatorium. [ applause ] and second, it is an institution that in its first 43 year has made a big impact in the world. what you see here is the end result of a lot of work by thousands of people. we see this space not just as a new campus, but as a transformative platform from which to multiply our impact, those within the museum and also beyond its walls. it is a great honor for me to represent the entire board along with two chairman ameriti who are both here today, dan casper and bill bos. >> both of who played... [ applause ] both of whom played critical roles in making this happen. over a decad

local state and federal funding streams impact public schools, and finally in this area, we had a collaborativive effort with chinese for the affirmative action james town in an event called building bridges with 30 participants participated in sharing experiences, concerns, and common vision for quality education and schools for their children in the district. we actively participated in the monthly family engagement network convened by the coordinator. and pac is one of many community based organization to provide feedback on the engagement family's vision and standards. pac continues to hold it on the after school for all advisory council and we really attended their meetings and work subgroups. in the fall, the pac vice chair spoke at the policy briefing after school at city hall and in late february, the pac vice chair was a representative and joined other representatives from the a. fa council in a conference at baltimore maryland for building local system to improve the after school programs. >> san francisco was one of the few city teams across the country who sent a parent representative

in looking at the tenant who is also needs to be a licensed and registered architect we have collaborativives that are going to help our department with the technicalities of going through this and helping with the tenant displacement and getting or dealing with the tenants on the ground. it would be advantageous. and so, i don't know that we need to put it in the discretion in the legislation, but it would help in our department process to have somebody that is already connected with that process. and so, i don't know, i don't think that we have to further delen ate. >> i completely agree, i think that would not be a problem and since you all would be appointing that member any way, i think that is more than fair. >> okay. >> thank you. >> thank you. >> thanks. >> okay. >> so i am actually up here for the second. >> and you can stay there for a second we have public comment up first. >> that public comment was done. >> now we need a motion. >> move to approve this legislation. >> second. >> take a roll call vote on the item. >> president mccarthy? >> aye. >> vice president mar? >> yes. >> co
