one is a case called trump against anderson, and this is the colorado case where the colorado supreme court decided that president trump should not be on the ballot because of section three of the 14th amendment and their judgment that he had participated in an insurrection. i think it is fair to say this is a case the supreme court had to take. if -- i think the prospect of 50 states making 50 different judgments about whether one of the major party candidates is going to get on the ballot is just not something that we could, you know, easily handle and certainly not something where the colorado supreme court should have the final if word. so it surprised nobody when the court took the case. and i think it would have been a great development if the court would have been able to decide this case in a single unanimous 9-justice opinion the way it did, you know, for those of you that remember back then in the very first precursor to bush v. gore, it was 9- 00 opinion, and this seemed sufficiently straightforward that what the colorado supreme court had done just didn't make any sense un
