it's just some rain falling in the district of columbia.ut you can see the areas with yellow and red. there is washington there. up to the nor, you can get a closer look to the northwest of front royal there are spots of heavy rain. not really seeing any lightning showing up but we are seeing the heavy rainfall. winchester you're getting rain. kaiser, cumberland and maryland seeing heavy rainfall. so this is why we have this severe thunderstorm watch in affect. now go down to the south. it's a pretty powerful, vigorous front moving through. this area in red here, through portions of halifax county, a tornado warning in affect. not here but down to the south. and you can see the strong storm activity associated along the front. that's a perfect picture. just to the south of the lynchberg area. and we'll keep our eyes on this and see how it develops during the crse of the day today. and now back to the regional radar and there is washington and here is your storm system associated with a cold front. again this is producing a variety of watche
