columbus day is a celebration of columbus and the story we are told was that columbus was an explorerally intrepid person adventure and that is supposed to be inspiring to us. unfortunately, that is based on a life. that idea of columbus as an explorer is based on a lie. columbus did not discover america. he plundered it. he brutalized its people. i would think people in general, whether they are italian or indigenous or any ethnicity, would want to align themselves with people who are for social justice, not somebody who represents a symbol of massacre and plunder. and i think most italian-americans with heard people -- most of the people who are from the italian-american community have thanked us for doing this ever representing their true ideas, that they do not want to celebrate somebody who is a symbol of racism and mass murder. and it really is an abomination. but let's come together to bring about an italian heritage day and make sure we don't let this sort of idea, this mythical idea that columbus was an explorer, divide us. we all need to come together. if you look at what is

i own the deli located on 507 -- columbus avenue and located right at the columbus and green. so our deli is a one of a kind deli and is one of the neatest and cleanest deli in north beach. i get a lot of compliments everyday every hour. we provide a lot of product from italy, meet, salami, sausage, pasta, you name it. we do have the best gelato and all day people, they come from italy and try that gelato in san francisco and they say it is better than the product existing in italy. one thing the store is missing is beer and wine because a lot of my customers come and ask for sandwiches and want to grab a six pack or wine to go and this is the only thing missing from the part of the store and i have to tell the customer i'm sorry, we don't have it. i been in the neighborhood since last seven years and we didn't have one incident or call or whatever happening in other store causing the neighborhood. i don't have that much to say. what i need. the only thing i field is beer and wine license and that is going to make my life easier and make me more successful. i do have a couple

this is a picture of a bus on columbus, columbus and green. already been implemented, constructed and is in use, super exciting. that lead us to some of the other fast-track projects that are going on and i wanted to run through this list really quick with you. all of these were approved on march 28th and i just want to run over where we are in the process. n judah there is a 9 block street between th and arguello on irving that is in detail design right now. it is looking to be advertised in the may time frame. i do want to point out all of these projects were approved to take advantage of coordination with dpw. all these corridors, dpw is working on repaving and, so, we wanted to be able to take advantage of that work going on both from a cost standpoint as well as an implementation disruption standpoint. so, that's why these projects have been -- are moving forward rather quick pace. n judah also on 28 we're adding a few accessible stops. and that project has already been issued an ntp and construction should be starting imminently. on the
