we have at columbus and vallejo where the city of department's publics work crew are trying to chop this tree down and remove it from the street here off of columbus. in the last ten minutes, its really made a big difference here. the tree took down actually a muni line, and you can see that just behind to the right there, muni confirming that was its line. it had to shut offlines to the. pge saying none of their lines were affected. as well as the inbound bay shore kpres route delay. rerouting in this area. this is again the second problem for muni this morning. for most of the 5:00 hour. the inbound trains stopped at the church street station where people had to then catch shuttle buses to the embarcadero station. the source of that problem was a power outage that. happened at the junction where a lot of those lines converge. causing, caused bay defective graph which is what connects the train to the overhead wire for power. ultimately causing the outage. it does not know why that piece of equipment failed and is investigating that. back here live again in north beach, the tree slowly

columbus and broadway. it has been busy with cars all morning, all because the street still remains blocked off. that's exactly why. crewsing to restore service to that power line that came down when a large portion of a ficus tree fell onto columbus avenue. it came down around 4:30 near the green street intersection and the power had to be cut to that muni line, causing the 41 line to reroute. it's been going around the block instead of right through columbus. it's caused minor delays. muni will have that up and running by this afternoon. in a separate incident, we want to tell you about a power outage that temporarily shut down muni's subway service from church street to embarcadero. about a dozen shuttle buses were brought in to help. it caused delays and gaps in service. they've had their hand busy all morning working with these problems. >> it's always a busy morning on muni. it's a very complex issue. there's 700,000 people who take the system every day. we have 7 different lines and routes throughout the -- 72 different lines and routes throughout the day. it's always a busy day. we try to respond to every issue a
