on march 4 we commemorated monroe's and i can ration. 200 years after the historical event. man.spired one young ofthe same day a succession speakers read excerpts in a fitting citizen tribute to a leader who dedicated his life to serving our democratic republic. another bicentennial initiative that involves students in the museum studies program at the university of mary washington is one in which i am extremely proud. they have designed a traveling exhibit that have visited some of the places that monroe went to during the tour. this is a joint project between the james monroe museum. particularly rewarding and meaningful to me as an alumnus of mary washington to know that we are helping students hone andr skills in the areas studies of preservation and themng on this and letting share this with a wider audience. we are in the process of booking sites of where this will go. we will be working on another one for the 1819 southern to her we come up on its anniversary. many other exciting opportunities lie ahead of the next years -- next eight years as we commemorate the bice
