commission. i haven't been on the commission that long. i know this project started many, many years ago. but as i've learned on the commission, these projects do take a long time. there is a lot of money involved and there is a tremendous partnership. and you heard all the departments that are mentioned. but i'm also here to thank i guess the previous leaders besides our mayor here. we had mayor brown, mayor newsome, but we also want to thank for their vision that has led us here today. i also want to recognize a couple previous port commissioners. ann hall stead and rodney fong. i learned we all work closely as a team to get to the vision you heard everybody mention. i'm really excited today to be on the port commission because there is truly a renaissance going on up and down the waterfront including projects like this which will provide beautiful public access and all the other things that are going on. i can't think of a more exciting time to be involved with the city and the waterfront and to be on the port commission. so, i just want to recognize and thank also the port staff. there are many of them here today, monique
