once the cra resolution is sent to a committee, if the committee does not report that resolution, 30 senators can band together to discharge the resolution from a committee. if you happen to see a cra resolution sitting around committee and thinking this isn't moving fast enough and my boss wants to get this discharged, then work to get 29 of your colleagues together to write a letter to get it discharged. then it will go to the floor and the cra resolution is privileged, meaning that the senate cannot proceed to other business, the vote cannot be postponed. they are going to be considering that cra resolution. debate on cra resolutions is very quick, it is limited to 10 hours divided equally between either side. of course the republicans are probably going to say we don't need five hours of debate on this. they can also pass a non-debatable resolution or motion to limit debate. some of the debate can happen very quickly on the cra. if you are writing vote recs for your boss, beyond top of cra's because those will come up very fast. make sure you are signed up for the cloak room emai
