[applause] >> the hon. london breed: so first of all, let me just start by saying that i'm so grateful to see all of you out here. many of you know that i grew up in san francisco, i grew up in fillmore, and my grandmother raised me in public housing. during that time, we all know the violence and the hurt and the frustration and the neglect that existed with the african american community still exists today. so as your mayor, as the first african american woman to be mayor, i know that's not enough for the african american community, and i want to thank supervisor walton for his leadership in bringing us all together, but also in leading the conversations around racial
