they saw mini computer companies destroyed by dell, compaq. dell went private. they have learned the lesson and hard to distance itself from the cupertino monster. i heard it on the call. i felt every analyst did his best to be respectfulle and acknowledge apple's greatness without saying it's all over but the crying. i could easily join them and say, hey, it was great while it lasted. nice to know you. i'm a generalist, not a technology analyst. i have been on calls from different companies and i can't view apple like just another hardware company. when i didn't like my dell or saw a cheaper deal for a gateway or hewlett-packard i switched. they'rdifferent toothpastes. ven every time you heard the word macro on apple's call you could tell the weakness and turmoil makes the analile to toothpaste too glib. people are spending $691 for a the strong dollar. that's when it hit me. every other international company i follow has found it almost impossible to raise prices in this environment. almost every american company had to deal with foreign exchange ratios that h
