joining us from concord with the story, tara? >> reporter: well a girl was walking to school when a stranger stopped to asked her for a ride. the same thing happened on the 6th but this time they say it is a new predator. the 6th grader was walking to school yesterday morning. -- yesterday morning, a man pulled out up and asked her to get into a car several times she said no and called a parent and that parent took her to class. they have issued a stranger danger alert. >> the man is described as being bald in his 30s, heavyset with a black mustache and goatee. possibly of special hand -- perfect hand descent. they are asking you to remind students not to speak with people in cars. >> reporter: they are asking children to walk with other students to school and they say safety in numbers is a good thing. they are looking to see if perhaps they put together a picture of the suspect. >>> investigators say they are following up on missing leads. family members say they hope the clues will provide some answers. now this is on a vigil

stephanie trong is live from concord with more details.tephanie, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. you know family members of the two victims say the support from the community has been a huge comfort to them. you can see just how much support has been given. it's reflected in this growing memorial along treat boulevard. the family is not focused on the release of the teen driver accused of killing the 41-year-old man and his 9-year-old daughter. that teen driver's parents picked him up from the juvenile hall in martinez around 4:30 yesterday afternoon. he was released because prosecutors missed their two business day deadline to file charges and keep him in custody. they are waiting for police to wrap up their investigation before they file any charges and that could take a couple more weeks. in the meantime the victim's family members say they are trusting the legal system and just hope the tragedy will help prevent others from feeling the pain they have had to go through. >> take your time, you know, enjoy everything. just stay s
