train derailed just outside the concord station, the concord station is back open, much to the relieft three dozen waiting passengers early this morning. here you can see them boarding that first b.a.r.t. train that left the concord station at 8:07 this morning as crews ran several test trains after conducting track inspections several hours ago and credit b.a.r.t. maintenance crews who worked through the night both repairing and replacinging some of the damaged track stemming from friday evening's derailment of an out of service train at a crossover point known as interlocking. this morning passengers are expected to get back on the train and have full confidence in b.a.r.t. despite the derailment. >> i was happy that it was a train that was out of service. if it had been a train that had people on it and was coming, say, from the city on friday afternoon, i would be experiencing chills right about now. >> reporter: now, the cause of the derailment remains under investigation but the big news for commuters this morning, all stations along the pittsburg bay point line are back open th

train service to the concord, north concord, and pittsburgh bay stations have been stopped. everybody wants to know will those training are running first thing tomorrow morning? >> reporter: the answer we think is yes. she says they are on schedule to restore service by 8 tomorrow morning. earlier today, b.a.r.t. used a massive crane to list those trains off the track. since then, b.a.r.t. has been working to repair significant damage to two sections of main line track and a portion of a 3rd rail in a cross over area off of the lane line. these are the some pictures that show just how bent and mangled the tracks are. the plant is toy are move all of this what happened -- plans are to remove all of the warped metal. >> we'll probably bring those tracks in the end of service this evening. we'll have crews working overnight and our goal is to have our regular normal sunday service which begins at 8 8:00. >> reporter: we don't finish those two accidents were caused by -- we don't know if those two accidents are caused by the same problem. b.a.r.t. is conducting an investigation.

it happened between pleasant hill and concord. crews moved the train off the tracks on saturday and sunday. they are lying to figure out why this happened. >> there is nothing we have seen so far that would lead us to believe acralment would occur. it will take investigation. we will investigate two, three, possibly four weeks for an answer. >> trains ran yesterday at 8:00 in the morning. one rider said her train slowed down through the newly repaired section and the operator wanted people. the commute is expected to be smooth this morning with no problems reported yesterday. >> from fremont, amtrak will roll this morning after an accident closed tracks all night around 10:00 last night a short distance from the fremont station. we got off the phone with fremont police and they said that the driver of a toyota car went an the downed arm at the crossing and was hit by the train. two men in the car was taken to the hospital. one is serious and one has minor injuries. 14 people on the train but no one was hurt. >> lights are back on

alex savidge joins us live from concord with that part of the story. good afternoon, alex. >> reporter: well, good afternoon. we haven't seen much in the way of damage in this area but there's still quite a bit of standing water in some spots. this small lake formed here in the back of the concord shopping center as strong showers blew through here this morning. and you can see people had the umbrellas out as they rushed inside this concord supermarket. this was during a brief downpour that soaked this area at 10:00. the showers have been off and on all morning long here in contra costa county and this particular burst of rain caught some people by surprise. >> it wasn't raining. now it's raining. i left my umbrella in the car. >> reporter: catch you yf guard a little? >> yeah. but we need the rain. we need the rain. >> i'm ready for a long time.
