(spencer) a boat fire in alameda left a dog dead..this is a photo from the scene... it happened this morning in alameda at the grand marina this afternoon. the fire was coming from one docked boat... but spread to two others. fire crews found the dog in the boat with the most fire damage. there were no human injuries, and we still don't know what caused the fire (spencer) in san francisco --- firefighters are looking into what caused an aparment building in chinatown to burst into flames. it happened at three thirty a.m. on waverly placenear portsmouth square. flames were coming from the third floor of the apartment building. within an hour firefighters had the fire under control. crews rescued one elderly victim who had smoke-related injuries that aren't considered life-threatening. (spencer) after heavy rain damaged a bridge along highway one in big sur beyond repair, crews began demolishing it this week. hundreds of people on the otherside of that bridge have found themselves stuck.... with very limited access in and out... now we'

live in concord where the governor will be later this morning. his plan calls for higher taxes so we could be paying for this. >> yes, governor jerry brown will be here in concord a few hours to sell his plan to spend over $52 billion over the next 20 years to fix roads in concord and throughout the rest of the bay area in the state. to pay for this the governor is proposing the first gas tax increase in over 20 years he wants a 12 cents per gallon of glass careen, a 20 cents per ban increase on diesel. he wants a $100 annual fee on zero emission vehicle and also proposing over $700 million from the general fund. that money would go toward fixing potholes, other kind of repairs for highways, bridges and culverts. it would also help improve public transportation, walking and biking trails and the reduction of traffic on major commute routes. governor brown says his proposal would cost drivers less than $10 a month and would reduce the cost of repairs to our cars. >> our roads are most of our freeway system and our regular roads are bad. i think th

(spencer) dozens showed up to a basketball tournament to honor a man killed in a highway shooting earlier this month... and to support his family. kron-4's jeff pierce was at the tournament in san pablo. this is the season for basketball tournaments and a special tournament was held on saturday at contra costa college in san pablo.this is the demarcus hero basketball tournament, demarcus the hero basketball tournament.demarcus doss was murdered earlier this month in a drive by shooting on interstate 80 in richmond. the tournament was a fund raiser to help the family pay for his funeral.they came to me with the idea to have this event to help raise money for the family with expenses and there was no way i could turn them down.it takes something like this to bring everybody together it kind of sad, at the same time it's a great cause to help out a family when a young man went through something terrible, helping them get through the process. for more than five hours ten teams contributed
