this is the surface street i know but a major concern for folks traveling through concord. you see the flashing lights and the flares. these folks are slowly shuttled off here at myrtle. that's from westbound kirker pass road. let's show you the map because it will make more sense as we show you kirker pass road is the cut-through from highway 4 coming out of pittsburg koord c toward concord. westbound forced off the freeway because of a crash involving a pickup and a horse this morning, that continues. avoid the area, use bailey perhaps as an alternate. zooming out, almost all of the rest of the bay shows a typical friday lighter commute. 680 southbound is the other traffic alert for the tri valley, south from 580 down to just about vernal avenue or sunol boulevard, we have this big jam by the traffic alert, a spill, a crash, and now tom jensen is out there, just arrived, what's the latest out there? >> reporter: i can tell you right now that traffic is backed up here on 680 southbound. let us show you what happened here. this big rig pulling two trailers full of dirt turn

good morning to you. 50 in santa rosa and concord. 53 san jose. and 54 for san francisco as well as for oakland. let's talk about the fog because we're tracking that along the coast, also for parts of the bay this morning. the north bay, check out napa, down to a quarter mile this morning. about one mile of visibility out in the santa rosa. so the north bay again dealing with that dense fog this morning. let's talk about the winds. we are getting southwesterly winds, that's an onshore flow. that's why we have the marine layer as we start off the day. looking at five miles per hour in sfo. four miles per hour in san ramon. bay point, light swell winds but in the pittsburg area, seeing gusts up to 10 to 11 miles per hour. so watching that for you as we head through the afternoon. we have that sunshine this afternoon so very similar to yesterday. we are going to continue with that weather pattern over the next several days here. near normal highs for this time of year. cooler temperatures arrive for next week. so we have to look forward to next week

what i'm told is a horse trailer at concord pavilion. horses are involved as well and it does not sound like they are in good condition at the scene so that will be an issue at the intersection right near the concord pavilion near myrtle. bailey road will cut throughraft it's okay but highway 4 takes you to 242 and 680 which may be a smoother drive. we'll continue to follow that story and see how that affects contra costa county. the rest of the area moves smoothly to the bay bridge without any problems. in the city we talked about fleet week. lot of folks continue to come in through the weekend, want to get to the ships and the air show off the embarcadero the ship tours and the bay bridge taking the folks from the east bay and that travels toward the fremont street closure and some mapping programs are using that as the route but you can't travel there because the trans bay transit center has the closure at fremont street. you have to take a wider berth but don't take it too wide it takes you to the congestion to golden gate park. lots

check out concord 85. up through the north bay we're going to see a nice range of upper 70s and some 80s. if you're headed out to the coastline or the city, temperatures will climb into the upper 60s with a high of 68 for san francisco. there is something that i want to you kind of look out for. beach hazard in effect and the reason for that is because we're seeing our very first swell of the fall. we've got a system developing off to the pacific north and this is going to raise concern for tall waves, great news for surfers but if you're a light swimmer like myself maybe not so much. as far as the waves go, to you are -- four to six feet every 18 seconds and gives you a time line how frequently the waves are kicking up. the long range outlook for now i'm going to give you a quick look ahead toward tuesday because that's where we're monitoring our next chance of seeing rain develop but as of right now the models are kind of showing the storm developing more off to the north. you could see it right over her
