kron 4 s charles clifford has the latest. >> here in concord on wednesday, parts of willow pass road and the northbound lanes of highway 2.42, or closed down for several hours as the california highway patrol and concord police attempted to talk to a man who was in distress. now, this all started about 07:30am, in the morning when the highway patrol concord police found this man who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt on the overpass above willow. pass road and northbound lanes of highway to 42. we don't know exactly what the problem was, but he appeared to be in distress. police officers spent hours talking to him in the meantime, they closed down several blocks of willow pass road and the northbound lanes of highway 2.42. that created a traffic backup on 6.80, and the surface streets here in concord about 10:30am, in the morning. they were able to get that man too peacefully, walked down off of highway 2.42. they spent some time talking to traffic was able to return to normal by about 1 o'clock in the afternoon. now, we do know that the concord police department spent some time t

it led them to this house in concord, where we found officers staked out late this afternoon. we talked with neighbors who didn't want to go on camera, afraid to talk about garcia, who they say was not a good neighbor. we dug into his background and found lots of criminal charges, a conviction from a 2011 case in fairfield where he detonated a pipe bomb damaging an apartment complex. he was sentenced to 35 years but got out early. this past may he was arrested on domestic violence charges and being a felon in possession of a firearm. garcia was due in court tomorrow in that case in contra costa county, but prosecutors are not expecting him to show up, as he is in jail in san francisco. >> unbelievable. thank you. >>> let's get to other stories around the bay area. san jose police say a 15-year-old boy has been arrested in that hit-and-run that killed a pregnant woman and her baby. police say he was behind the wheel when he ran a red light and slammed into april zoglauer's car. it happened last week near blossom hill road and winfield boulevard. zoglauer was rushed to the hospi

it's in the mid 90s for fairfield, napa, 92 concord 90 degrees in livermore.pressure in control of our weather. the winds are coming off the land blowing towards the coast today and that's what brought the heat as we get heating from compression, the winds flow down the mountaintops as we look at fleet week festivities, here's a look at the forecast. it's going to be a warm fall day tomorrow. upper 80s here in san francisco. fine flying weather on saturday, but those temperatures do come down and it's the cooler day on sunday with the fog rolling in. as we look at a live picture from our sutro tower camera, it is a bright view, warm to hot again tomorrow. possibility of a few records, fog returns and relief arrives this upcoming weekend. so tonight at 6:00, it's still going to be warm across the region as we head into 8 p.m. temperatures coming down into the 60s, 70s. tomorrow morning, we will have a mild start. and then tomorrow, by early afternoon, many areas are already in the 80s and the 90s. here is a look at those temperatures first thing in the morning,
