fairfield. 70 to san francisco. but now let's fast forward to saturday. watch closely. these temperatures right there, concord, livermore, fairfield, upper 90s to 102 degrees. you see that and think oh no, we're going to go back into the heat advisories and excessive heat watches. well, it's just for one day. saturday bayside temperatures comfortable. 70s and 80s. look what happens sunday. the breeze picks back up. and just like that we're back into the mid-80s inland. more comfortable. a little more wind on sunday. low 80s in san jose. back into the 60s and 70s over to san francisco to oakland. and similar trend temperature-wise into monday. so you got the temperatures spiking on saturday. and then trending a bit more mild sunday into monday. if you have tahoe plans, less monsoon moisture is good news for you this weekend. numbers in the low to mid-80s. better air quality too. we're seeing less wildfire smoke. so you can see that the monsoon moisture for now is staying bottled up towards our east. and the system that brings the cooling on sunday may bring us a few high clouds. no showers, but that's going to

santa rosa to concord and fairfield into the 90s. more 90s south to morgan hill. and temperatures for saturday, though, jumping by about 5 to 8 degrees, which should look like that for your saturday afternoon. walnut creek and concord upper 90s. 98 degrees in livermore. 90 in san jose. that's jump in temperatures for saturday. 70s and 80s bayside. sunday now, everybody cools back down again as the breeze picks up. so 80s look a little more comfortable as we wrap up the weekend. lake tahoe plans should be this the 80s. notice what's missing here is that monsoon moisture and no thunderstorms around the sierra. instead, this weather system passing by late sunday, should kick up that sea breeze and bring us some high clouds to close out the weekend and lead to some weekend cooling. san francisco going from the low 70s next two days to 60s, or upper 60s around sunday. and valleys which will see that one-day spike in temperatures on sunday gets pretty hot in the inland east bay valleys drops back down into the 80s as we wrap up the weekend. sunday looks more comfortable

we'll see a high of 100 in concord and fairfield. 95 in santa rosa, but we just showed this, the temperatures tomorrow getting up to 105 in fairfield, and 102 in livermore, so we'll continue to track this, talk more about the air quality coming up. mike, you have a traffic alert in oakland. >> we do, a number of freeways closed early this morning. first of all we take you to off live look 808 in oakland, this is the nimitz. you see all this traffic stopped up southbound just before you get to the coliseum, which is behind me. everybody's exiting at 66th down here at the bottom of the screen you see activity, a deadly crash. i'm not getting a lot of details regarding this crash, unfortunately, at least one person died, i think at most one person died down here, that's too many anyway. we're looking at this closure and everybody getting off at 66 and i believe they're traversing down to haganberger as best i can tell. chp busy on scene and we're not hearing how long the closure is expected. i believe the coroner has arrived on the scene to do that work over here. in the meantime, 580 is clear.
