let's remember in 2005, condy rice went to cairo and gave her cairo speech and confronted the regimef egypt and saudi arabia and said we need reform and said all these years we have been pursuing stability at the expense of democracy. we've gotten neither. we did not see that the president -- >> the other thing what president bush said at the time infuriated mubarak. >> she got heat for her speech as well. >> chris: but then the bush administration backed off. >> this administration has been slow to act to the event and said foolish things but they are moving. friday night, president obama said i told him, president mubarak, he has a responsible to deliver reforms. secretary clinton told you 36 hours later we're urging the mubarak government which is still in power to do what is necessary to facilitate an orderly transition. we have moved from this mubarak, do the right thing to we are going to work to have an orderly transition away from the president mubarak, dictator mubarak. which is a good move by secretary clinton. now we need to help make it orderly and successful transition.
