two officers are in critical condition. jason law is live in boston where those two officers remain in the hospital this morning. >> reporter: good morning. both officers undergoing surgery. commissioner bill evan briefed reporters and said that two officers were both in extremely critical condition. those are the words he used "extremely critical." walk you through the timeline. at 12:30. the boston police officer first tweeted out that one officer suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. the second officer suffered life-threatening injuries. the last press update or the last press briefg g came at a little more than two hours ago when both officers were in extremely critical condition. one at the time was already in surgery. the second officer is being prepped for surgery this morning. presuming they will be both undergoing surgery right now, or very soon this morning. this is what the commissioner said a short while ago. >> we are not proud when we have to use deadly force, but, you know, obviously we had two officers inju

what are the conditions there now? >> reporter: tracy and vai, the conditions, it's pretty calm right now. we have seen evacuations from florida to the carolinas. this is the worst storm, the biggest storm, rather, that we've seen in more than a decade. just a slight definiviation. and people need to be out of this area by noon. with hurricane warnings all across central florida more than 2 million people have been told they need to get out immediately. after seeing the death and destruction that hurricane matthew is causing in the caribbean. many people are heeding these warnings. we've seen people rushing into the stores to try to find everything they can to make sure they're prepared. we're talking about food, batteries, water, and most importantly, gas. we've seen long gas lines. we've seen it impact traffic. one of the main roads in charleston, south carolina, moved both of those lanes moving out of that area to make sure people can be safe. the worst of the storm is expected to hit the daytona beach area late ton

highway 85, actually seeing conditions improve up there so that's great. in the weather center this morning, what we're tracking are some light showers in southeastern colorado. they don't have a lot of life left in them. they will move into kansas and the clouds and drizzle and fog we have over us now moving out by mid-morning, a sunny -- i mean, sunny afternoon for you. 70s for our daytime highs, into the 60s and 70s in the mountain gusts over 30 miles per hour right up over the top of berthoud pass towards loveland pass and will get windy as you get up high. showers in southeastern colorado out and away during the morning. that reveals clear conditions late in the afternoon with 60s to near 70 along the kansas border, getting privately milder towards i-25 and in the western valleys with 50s and 60s in mountain areas. wind will be a bit of an issue for us. continental divide, fairly breezy and in western colorado, 15, 20-mile-per-hour gusts, windy in wyoming yet again today and then this evening, some strong wind coming up out of the south will prime us
