yes, sexual harassment occurs in congress like other workpieces. while the more serious allegation of sexual harassment and borderline criminal behavior in some instances tends to receive the most attention from the media, those types of allegations are not the normal on capitol hill and not in my office of experience and i recognize this behavior does go in-- unreported and that may account for some of that. i went to answer the question of what has worked to address the concern about sexual harassment. i wish there was an easyh answe, but there is not. although it is not a panacea, i believe mandatory in person training is helpful. i have tried quite a few members on this issue lately and the response has been encouraging. i'm hopeful the training has meant members are talking directly with their employees and telling them they should come forward with concerns without fear of retaliation. employees won't always believe it, but this is a positive step and might help to change the perception held by some h that these issues should not be reported.
