and where the president and congressional democrats have a verified plan to fight inflation, congressional republicans are standing against this because they are more about protecting tax welfare more than they do about curbing inflation. they are screaming bloody murder because this led head punch managers paperless -- head -- hedge fund managers. stop shielding wealthy -- taking advantage of everyone in this room. this year congressional republican like rick scott proposed raising taxes on about 100 million middle-class americans. americans have a clear choice between these agendas and the values behind them. do we attack inflation with inflation reduction act which we know works or will work? or do we extend the pain of inflation because they think it is more important to let the wealthiest americans and big corporations take advantage of all of us and to cut costs the middle class? those are the choices we have to make. >> [inaudible] has the president been briefed on any threat to u.s. citizens at home or abroad as retaliation for taking on -- >> i went reiterate what the set up here.

how is this moving -- or what are you seeing, i should say, in the congressional ballot test? >> the congressional ballot test is a question asked, if the election were held today, would you vote for the democrat or republican in your district. i was not expecting that to change after roe v. wade was overturned based upon some of the polling we were seeing. if you look at the generic ballot today, in fact it is tied. john, i like looking back at history. i don't really ever recall this happening where in fact the momentum is going towards the president's party. because normally over the course of a midterm year, you see the momentum turning against the president's party. but we're seeing democrats gaining ground. while there are other issues, such as gas prices, to me, abortion is the clear line where once that decision happened, you saw democrats gaining ground. and the truth is they really haven't stopped gaining ground. >> and you see special elections, the ballot test shifted. and there have been other things, gas prices and thiengs. also the president's approval rating. w

congressional district 19. this is a battle to see who fills the seat up until the fall, an open seat right now, and right around south of albany, upper hudson, if you are looking at the map, it is interesting is that he has run on abortion. a lot of people are going to look at this and try to figure out what we can expect. we will try to look at that as well. but joe biden one by appointment half, but donald trump one before that by about his points. we will see if it can be capitalized tonight. and another house race here. they redrew the lines repeatedly in new york. and they finally said hey, these are the lines in the selection and democrats eating democrats in a political sense, this is congressional district number 12 and we have some results here. okay, that was quick. jerry nadler, 57%, carolyn maloney, 26 and jerry nadler has been in congress representing the upper west side for more than 30 years, carolyn maloney has been in congress more than 30 years, representing the upper east side of new york. t
