johnson and conlon and i have worked with them for years and i am so impressed with the work that they have done and i wanted to mention that one of the reasons possibly more people don't show up at animal welfare commission meetings is that the people are under the impression that san francisco is an extremely safe city for animal and a lot of people think that this is a no kill city. that is not true and i think that important to get the word out to the san franciscans who care about animals that there are animals here in san francisco who adoptable, treatable animals who are put to sleep, unnecessarily. both maria and julene are very intelligent and resourceful and creative and hard working people. and they both bring the specific talents julene has a phd and it is wonderful and synthesizing data, and trying to move san francisco forward to being a no kill city, and maria has done the same thing but in a slightly different way, she has worked animal by animal, and she she is getting the animals that are unlikely to get out of the shelter alive in the foster homes, and into adoptive
