connell: carry on.rles: joy global, up a little bit today on rumors china is going to do something big with its stimulus package. we know the global economy has hurt them. there's something the ceo said the last time they reported there's evidence that both the united states and china markets have bottomed we expect the recovery to be sluggish. i think ultimately that was a sign that, you know, your risk reward on this stock is pretty good. not sure when it is going to go up. it is trading with 8 p-e. we do know they have problems, missed the street three of the last four quarters. but these kind of stocks you don't necessarily wait for the economy to get better. you kind of get positioned in them. just like housing, you don't buy housing now. you should have been in housing six months ago. i think this will be one of those names. you can see starting to make higher highs in its chart after making that low in august. i think the next high it takes out, it could pick up some momentum. connell: what about

[laughter] connell: carry on, rich. rich: congress is going to finish really nothing beyond what they absolutely must. government funding runs out october 1st so congress will likely pass an agreement they have already reached to avoid a government shutdown. the house will extend provisions of law governing surveillance in the united states. after their two weeks of work, lawmakers will likely only finish government spending, maybe disaster aid or benefits for needy families. it is very unlikely congress resolves anything on taxes, fiscal cliff, post office reform, or the farm bill. and a top house republican blames it on the senate and says it is all democrats. >> the u.s. congress has been working quite a bit. it's the u.s. senate that's been stopping everything. so we don't know how much comes to fruition, but we do know we will get things through the house, but when it gets to the senate -- [inaudible]. rich: democrats say it is the republicans fault. in an op-ed in politico, it says since president obama took offic

connell powell has more from afghanistan. >> some 45 u.s. and international troops have died at the hands of their afghan security partners and because of this increase in insider attacks, u.s. militaries announced today, they're temporarily halting the training and recruiting of the afghan local police forces and now, the police force is a local militia, trained and equipped by u.s. special forces and it's really a program that's designed to give local afghans, armed and equipped to fighting the insurgency, particularly in areas where there isn't a strong afghan security presence. there are no police or military in that area. and the whole idea is to have sort of a local awakening, but it's a controversial program here in afghanistan, because in some cases they've he recruited former taliban fighters to be a part much the low he ccal militia. most insider attacks have taken place in the traditional army and in the police force, but the u.s. military says right now they had they need to temporarily halt the training and recruiting of this af
