to connell mcshane on the ground in beijing. connell, dji is that name. what was it like inside? to a certain extent like huawei but the story is much different, has gotten caught up in this whole trade war, or some in china describe as a tech war with then united states. once we got inside, this company is really innovating. the largest drone company in the world and has a gigantic footprint in the united states. in fact, if you look at the consumer drone market which has been growing in the united states in recent years, dji makes up to 80% of the consumer drones in the u.s. so when the department of homeland security came out with a warning last month saying they were concerned about some of the chinese-made drones and just the potential that they could be collecting data and sending it back to china, that would be a concern certainly for dji but talking to officials there, they are going on and on with us to say that it shouldn't be a worry at all, because just like we have on our computers or cell phones these days, they have a privacy mode, you can turn it off. they say the

connell mcshane got a first look at huawei in shenzhen, china, where he joins us live from there. nnell. >> i was listening to what you an michael were talking about. huawei according to a lot of people could be a key part of this negotiation, if it is really part of this negotiation. to your point we learned today, huawei is definitely struggling. although the company will argue, has been arguing it can survive those struggles. a couple things happened. first of all the founder of huawei had a roundtable discussion at company headquarters today where you could take a 30 billion-dollar hit to revenue over the next couple years. also said smartphone sales outside of china could drop by 40%. the second thing that happened separate from that is our crew at fox business got an exclusive tour of the facilities and kind of further insight into how this huge company sees things, what their view of things really is. i sat down with a huawei executive named andrew williamson, one of the arguments he made, not just huawei's bottom line that is on the line. take a listen. >> huawei is actuall

connell mcshane just got through the doors for an exclusive look behind the scenes at huawei's headquartersnd he's there right now. connell, is it as mysterious as it seems back there? reporter: not really. it's interesting, it's a sprawling complex and you know, whatever you think of huawei and all the allegations that you described that the companies have been facing, you can only describe the headquarters itself as impressive. it's basically 11 mini campuses that make up one larger complex, not unlike some of the large complexes we see in silicon valley. but like everything in china, it's just bigger than what we see in the united states. to your point, this was a reclusive, even secretive company for years. that seems to be changing, probably out of necessity. so the founder today inviting in a group of journalists and others to talk about the outlook for the company, talking about how the crackdown by the united states is certainly hurting the company. but it's all kind of part of a larger p.r. offensive, right. we saw that, too, in the executives we spoke to inside of huawei today. in

charles: connell mcshane, thank you very much.nd trying to calm political protests in hong kong. that became difficult as hong kong's leader championed that embattled extradition bill but not resigning. we have jillian melchior who returned from hong kong glad you're back here safe and sound. >> yep. charles: the experience there, it was amazing. millions of people protesting this. >> it was quite the sight. two million people showed up on sunday to protest this. this was extraordinary act of courage because on wednesday there was high level of police violence. 150 cans of tear gas-fired into the crowd, rubber bullets. people showed up and protested because they're afraid this extradition law would essentially impose china's justice system on to hong kong. it would mean anyone in hong kong, whether hong kong or foreigner could be extradited to china and subjected to the chinese legal system, jailed, potentially even tortured. so they took to the streets in protested this. they were able to get extradition bill put on pause for now

let's go straight to connell mcshane reporting for a flight from hong kong. connell, have the authorities to spend a debate on this new traditional? reporter: they have delayed it, stuart. that's a significant development. earlier in the day today that was supposed to be the news of the day that this extradition law, which you described, was to be debated in the legislator in hong kong but just before noon on a wednesday that debate was delayed because nobody could make it into the legislative building to have the debate. the protesters have blocked it off and did something but i've never seen in covering a protest like this is they use the police barricades against the police. they tied the barricades together so the right police gather there earlier in the day could not get near the legislative building and the authorities left with no choice. what happened next? we are not sure. we spent a number of hours with the protesters earlier in almost all of them are young people. they talk about a hong kong that is free for their entire life and say they don't want
