ing fox news correspondent conor powell is live in jerusalem with more. rter: hi, elizabeth. well, iran's navy conducts these military exercises annually, so it's a fairly common event, but it is the first time that iran's navy is conducting these exercises since president trump took office vowing to get tough on tehran. and since his administration has declared that iran is on notice after it fired a ballistic missile recently. iranian state tv said these drills near the strategic strait of hormuz are being carried out to improve the readiness against terrorism and piracy. the drills include iranian naval ships and helicopters and will take place across some two million square kilometers. now, nearly a third of all oil traded at sea passes through the strait of hormuz, it's a really strategic spot, but it's also the scene where the u.s. navy has sort of run and done battle with the iranian navy as well. last month a u.s. destroyer fired warning shots at four iranian fast track attack vehicles as they were really approaching the u.s. ships too quickly. but
