what's the biggest issue, constance? i know you're relatively -- you're not necessarily phased by this, to matt's point, part of trading perhaps. 1%. we had the chart up there. 800 days since we've had a garden variety pullback. what are you concerned about? >> interestingly, when you brought back the cpi. i'm not concerned about it. i think the strong core cpi says we're having strong demand in our economy. what would be worse is if we had consumers getting more buying power from cheaper oil. they didn't spend it. we didn't see it. no pricing pressure in any parts of the economy. they're using that buying power. increased demand is causing increase in prices. that is a healthy sign for our economy. charles: are we at that transition point, that inflection point where there's enough main street strength that you see -- let's face it, economists see it too, that they can take off these gigantic tractor sized training wheels that have propped us up. can we make that transition smoothly? >> i think we'll be able to. holding

it just seems one of those areas that screams for some of the constancy of a high level entity, and official or a group within the interagency structure that will keep a strategic focus. we don't maintain a strategic focus. i would love to hear from you all. i think you have given it to us in different forms, but specific recommendations for where you would see structurally that consistency that we need in the organization and the white house to maintain strategic focus on what is right now being neglected. >> i said it before. it re-creates the structure. it worked. it was not perfect and needed refinement but it belongs. i think it should include somebody that needs to be respected. it is all it is all about personal relationships. the way you get things done in the white house is figure out what the president wants and then you develop the relationships with your counterparts and the agencies. none of this that we have heard about all day today is not doable. it just requires focus leadership, and it needs trust the trust between the person in charge of this component wherever you decide
