captioning 1-800-688-6621 aberdeen.io damian: we begin today with the monthly visit of the consulate of mexicon jose. with me is ambassador alejandra bologna, who's the consul general of the consulate of mexico in san jose. ambassador, welcome back to the show. alejandra bologna: thank you so much for having me. damian: well, you know, you provide services for the mexican nationals, but you're also providing american services because you have tax prep help. tell us about what you're doing when it comes to taxes and the help you're providing. alejandra: well, what we are doing is to our community, we have our nationals that they are paying taxes. and we know that it is a period that they need their documents for paying taxes. so, what we are doing, we have opened for these two weeks important number of appointments for using their passport and the matricula consular. but at the same time, what we--our nationals, they can do instead of sending their original document, their passport, or the matricula, they can come to the consulate and we can make a certified copy of their documents. so, that wi

mexico people are taking. that may look sort of like a refugee resettlement pipeline where people can go to u.s. embassies and consulatesern europe and apply there. it may be sort of a different kind of visa program where people apply for sort of a temporary humanitarian parole but do it from western europe but for now, again, that -- those possibilities don't exist. so what people are getting when they cross the border into the u.s. is one year of humanitarian parole. it's not a permanent status in the united states. it's one year. there is a lack after clarity what that means if they can work in the u.s. for the next year. it certainly is unclear what will happen beyond the 12 month the. will they be able to stay? to be clear a lot of people don't want to stay beyond 12 months. i talked to one woman yesterday that said she wants to stay for two weeks maximum. she's sure the war will be over in two weeks and she'll go back to kharkiv. it's an of tiptimistic plan. some say i'll my graigrate and in the united states. they are taking a bizarre route to get to the u.s. >> kevin, thank you for bringing your reporting to us.
