. >>> a midair collision near the contra costa county chopper. it crashed near rio vista. the plane ended up short of the airport. thomas roman is there to tell us how the two pilots are doing tonight. thomas? >> we are at the airport and a small plane that was involved in the midair collision with the helicopter is sitting about a thousand yards over the other end of the runway on its nose surrounded by contra costa county sheriff deputies. as the saying goes any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. both pilots managed to walk away. from sky 7 you can see the helicopter. it is eight miles south of the rio vista airport. it crash-landed near 160 by sherman island. authorities say it collided near the rio vista about 7:00 p.m. >> i believe she had very minor, minor injuries, a couple cuts on her hand. our paramedic spoke with the hospital doctor. the doctor i believe got on the phone and actually spoke with the patient and talked her into going just to get checked out. >> they managed to shut off the fuel system which may have prevented the fiery crash. the pil
