(spencer)contra costa county has a deal with the feds - they house undocumented immigrants picked up by the feds here at west county, and get federal funds in exchange. recently activists released a letter from 40 of those detainees who say they're being abused.they say, among other things, that they're locked up for 23 hours a day. they say they have to go hours without being able to use the bathroom.but the sheriff's office responded on social media, saying it has never received complaints from the ice inmates alleging abuse. detainees are also free to leave their rooms for bathroom breaks, visitors, and other reasons.exzadrain van williams' uncle was in west county once, and he never heard about mistreatment there.
