the contra costa community college gymnasium on mission bell, drive is right now serving as an evacuation center. here's a live look at the scene tonight. very active. one out there with hazmat crews and other emergency responders combing the area. they've been doing this for hours. the incident began just before 1 o'clock this afternoon after investigators found hundreds of boxes with several hazardous materials at a backyard shed on stanton avenue near giant highway. they say they were first alerted when the homeowners brother to chemicals to a recycling center, a bomb squad also currently investigating the boxes and they have not identified what those chemicals are that they found, but they are worried they could be toxic or explosive at first officials only issued a shelter-in-place alert, but then around 4.30, this afternoon, the upgraded it to an evacuation order. one resident telling us that she didn't know about the evacuation until she got home. >> parked in front of my house that looked at it went to the website and the website says that we are evacuate immediately. so i didn't

the contra costa community college gymnasium on mission bill drive serving as an evacuation center. the red cross is there helping displaced residents. meantime, investigators say the homeowner wasn't home but his brother was there and cooperating with emergency responders. well, authorities are investigating another freeway shooting in the east bay. it happened tuesday night on 8.80, in fremont right near 84. no one was hurt and there's no word on a suspect. now, there have been at least 26 freeway shooting since the start of the year. a second person has been arrested for a shooting that left one person injured. and sonny bill, shooting happened early sunday morning on east washington avenue. one man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and had to be taken to the hospital. the first suspect, gregory law was taken into custody during that investigation. police identified film okay, full as a second suspect. now he was arrested yesterday at sfo while trying to board a flight to turkey and the north bay, a man who had been shot to death was found in a local creek tuesday night in vallejo
