contra costa county of the u. s.partment of labor, formalizing a partnership to combat wage theft and protect workers' rights. greg lee now with details on the new memorandums of understanding now, in effect, correct, andre that memorandum of understanding or mou means the da's office will be able to devote more resources to prosecute criminal wage theft cases. contra costa county district attorney dina beckton and the department of labor assistant district director signed the mou today in martinez. beckton says the formal agreement will also help to curtail labor trafficking, unfair business practices, payroll tax evasion and wage and hour violations. to do this, she'll create a workplace justice unit. which she says will be committed to fair and equitable workplaces. it will have prosecution resources along with resources from our investigative team as well. and in addition to the wage theft cases and the other types of cases that have already been discussed, we will also devote devote resources to labor traffickin
