it was just before 03:00pm when contra costa county fire received calls about a possible heir saw vapor release inside of this hobby lobby in antioch. people say the smell was similar to bear for pepper spray. fire crews do believe that is what it was inside of the store. there were about 7 people at that 70 people at the time. it was a combination of both employees and customers cut. costa county fire was unable to locate a canister inside of the store. this situation is no longer a hazmat situation. it will be handed over to police to see if they can determine exactly what was released and who released it. they don't have any suspects at this time. there were 3 people transported to the hospital for symptoms of eye and skin irritation or respiratory problems. i spoke to someone here who was inside at the time. he said he saw people coughing and eyes tearing up because of that release. they were all ultimately okay. it was just a momentary reaction to that pepper or bear spray that was released into the store. but like i said, it is back open. now people are able to go inside. hazmat s
