we are tracking a bit of a cooldown.acking red flag warnings for the active wildfire zones. all the details coming up after the break. stay with us. >>> good morning. it's 7:44. it's saturday. hope you are having a good day so far, enjoying breakfast. let's look at current temperatures as you are getting ready to head out the door. temperatures in the 60s for the peninsula, also for the trivalley and the south bay. we have got comfortable temperatures. no major changes in term of the next couple of hours. but we will notice a change from the coast to inland area. san francisco right now we have still got a bit of fog thanks to a nice marine layer. 57 degrees now. the north bay is looking better but still noticing a bit of haze due to the active wildfires. although we are not under a spaer the air alert it's important to remain mindful as we continue to see the air quality changing depending on the wind shift. san jose, daytime highs today 88. mill paid as also in the 80s. along the oakland and hayward area, in the 70s. f

that cooldown is going to be coming to an an abrupt end. the haze and some smoke particles starting to filter in from those nearby fires. until they're fully extinguished we're going to undergo periods of blue sky and haze. current temperature at 79 degrees, relatively comfortable. as we head through tonight, we continue with some of the haze, but we'll also see a little bit of fog mixing in. that's the good news. the fog will give us a little bit of a break. it's going to import some cleaner, cooler air across the bay area. that will be better if you do suffer from asthma or any kind of respiratory problems. temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s to start. as we heat up tomorrow, we're going to see that poor air quality return again with likely some of the thickest smoke right here across the north and east bay and then that haze for the peninsula and also through the south bay. temperatures also going up about four to eight degrees in the south bay, 90s returning. as we head through the east bay, we're also looking at temperatures warmi

for the weekend, just a slight cooldown on sunday. the sea breeze will pick up a little bit, dropping our inland temperatures into the 80s. unfortunately, monday through wednesday, we're going to see high pressure strengthen. take that marine air and squish it down to the coast. our valley temperatures could be back in triple digits as we get towards next tuesday and wednesday. the weekend weather doesn't look too bad. we'll see temperatures trending a little bit more mild around san francisco. you'll see valley temperatures cooling slightly, but then rebounding big time getting towards tuesday and wednesday. high fire danger in that seven day forecast. >>> i've started a couple of issues on the roads. the reason for it? i'm not quite sure. it looks like people are off to a busy start this morning. i did see this pop up on the san mateo bridge. i have to look into that. i guess i spoke too soon. this is along northbound 680. it two lanes are blocked. you can already see speed censors picking up a little bit of slowing on both of those

we'll see slightly warmer weather tomorrow and saturday with a minor cooldown on sunday. will be warming up again early next week. let's move along and take a look at windy conditions right now across the bay area. we have gusts from 16 to 25 miles per hour across much of the bay area, 25-mile-per-hour gusts in san francisco as a matter of fact. during the overnight hours into early tomorrow morning we'll see a continuation of fairly breezy conditions with winds calming down a bit earlier in the day and then bouncing back later in the afternoon and evening tomorrow. this gusty pattern will remain with us. mainly clear skies inland, but a patch or two of fog may show up. more than a patch along the coastline, and maybe some patches of fog reaching across the bay overnight, spotty drizzle along the coast is possible, and overnight lows in the mid to upper 50s for weeks now. tomorrow, mainly sunny skies at the coast where we will see patch of lingering fog. highs range from low 60s at the coast, and low to mid-70s along the bay, a bit warmer than today. and once again, a red

it is a subtle cooldown. the bay area has been mild and cool all week. going into the north counties that has not been the case. the deep marine layer along the entire coast should help the fire zones like the mendocino complex fires, it's down one degree or two since yesterday which is good. looking at the forecast for tomorrow, tomorrow morning, the two fires up north, you could see what happens with temperatures warm again but not as sweltering as 100 three or the 98 degrees we saw. things are generally better for firefighters. the weather isn't really hurting firefighters but doing its best to help. it's definitely more mild and cool then you might have expected for early august.>>> governor jerry brown has said the state has enough money to fight these fires but gave a grim outlook for the future saying things might only get worse.>> he spoke at the emergency operations center outside of sacramento.>> governor brown said if california keeps getting more hot and more dry that the future doesn't look good. he predicts it could cost the state billions
