this is cordova.>> reporter: the mayor says he wants to make it clear, he's not trying to keep people from having a place to stay but rather follow the city codes. >> why should i destroy a zoning ordinance for -- >> that report was from our affiliate wbma. they are also reporting that the cordova police department set up a trailer to pay the water bills and a bank has been allowed to install a trailer as well. wbma sought an explanation from the mayor and when they called the mayor, he hung up. >>> amid all of the tragedy and destruction from all of these storms and tornadoes which have clearly swept across the country, trending now, a survivor's tale, about a puppy dog. this is mason. he loves his family. look at that tail. in april his family's home was destroyed after tornadoes blew it off its foundation. now, mason had been hiding out in the garage. it was leveled. the family was forced to get out of there and seek shelter somewhere else. they figured they would never see this little guy again. b

. >>> on this memorial day, i want to begin on cordova, alabama. it hit on the morning of april 27th by a powerful ef-3 tornado, and then the very same day ef-4 tornado hits that same town that night. cordova, alabama, is not the town that you see here in some of the video, some of the aerial pictures here and satellite images. a lot of folks have certainly lost their homes, but as we told you on friday, the cordova mayor jack scott is invoking a ordinance that rejects any trailer which is being offered by the federal government to folks whose homes have been destroyed. and jack scott is saying emergency or not, the law is the law. and as we showed you on friday, none of the folks in cordova are none too thrilled about the 50-year-old ordinance. we will talk to some folks live in a moment, but first, listen to this. >> what i suggested is putting the fema trailers in my backyard, because of the mayor, we want do that. we can't help our neighbors, because he won't let us. >> that is something that this room full of cordova neighbors were wanteding t

that is the cry tonight for people in rancho cordova. they are furious that the n word is on display on dozens of tombstones. so furious that robert lyles says a surprising group is stepping forward offering their help. robert. >> well dana, you'll recall it was ten days ago that cbs 5 revealed that there were two dozen grave sites right here in the sacramento area that some describe as desecrated because each and every one of those graves carried a tombstone with the n word on top of them. we return here to rancho cordova tonight because we received word that a local congressman was here and that he might be weighing in on this controversy. what we found instead is that local convicts watch our television newscast and they are offering a proposal to erase this hate. >> and currently, there is 36 grades in the congressional district. >> right in the heart of eldorado hills, says michael harris. the man tried to carve hate so this area's congressman has been a decade long losing battle with eldorado county. >> help close the deal. > appla

now, andrew, you and others are implying a relationship between cordova and the congressman?congressman weiner who allowed for 72 hours to believe that his website was hacked which caused for this poor guy who discovered this thing to be accused of being a hacker, and he has gotten death threats. what has happened in the last 24 hours is that he is downgrading it to prank. there is something fundamentally different between a prank and a hack. a prank is a -- >> do you have any evidence to show it was not a hack or a prank? >> a prank is innocuous, and a hack is criminal and malignant. we have called for an investigation to clear wolf's name, because for the last 72 hours, the supporters of congressman weiner have accused him of online and many prominent ones, including the dailycause of having hacked him. so if in fact there was -- >> what if in fact there was not a hack. i'm just asking you? >> well, he is saying he does not want an investigation and he says it is a prank, and what is the motivation. prank implies he knows who the person was, and it was done in a light heart

at bringing these folks here was into illinois about dirty miles away from a nuclear facility in cordovaed which is inside the 17th district, which i represent. is not about fear tactics. is about being a realist and you know a fear tactic would be back on september 9 of 2001 and telling people that these people or going to knock over our two towers. this is a real situation and these aren't like i said earlier, your gas station guys. i have into gitmo personally. all i heard from the news media here in the united states of america is how bad these people have it. when i got there it was unbelievable how well treated they were and i give a lot of credit to our soldiers and all that they have put up with from his people and what they get dumped on them and how they are treated. it was pretty impressive to me. they have a library with 14,000 books in it. they get to go outside and run the soccer fields back and forth. i mean it would be a pretty nice place to spend a weekend i guess you might say. but i believe moving the detainees to begin a poses unnecessary risk and the question we have
