corey smith on behalf of the san francisco housing coalition. evacue.we've been involved to gt feedback on this proposal since the beginning and our most recent proposal was in september of last year and we are here in support of the proposal. our office, i think some of you may know, is in the heart of the hub and we're kind of smack dab in the middle of it. and so every time i hear a pile driver at the building next door, that's what people don't like about this stuff. but it's all progress for the city and it is moving our city forward and bringing amenities and bringing a park to my office community and it's bringing a lot more housing and a lot more subsidized affordable housing, which we think is fantastic. and it was mentioned earlier and i think the city needs to continuously explore ways to try to figure out how to get that transportation piece to work effectively, because we are creating a lot of jobs in downtown san francisco and we still have an office and job shortage even, given that. so how do we find ways to incentivize the futur

corey smith on san francisco action coalition. this is one where i think you listen to one side arguing for more parking and the other not. it is not black and white. we get it from both sides. quite frankly, the core problem that we think that we really have here is a lack of quality public transit. if the public transit were running every two minutes and able to get folks downtown quickly on the t, then the need for parking wouldn't be there. we understand that the lots there are full. like many san francisco neighborhoods to get a parking spot in this area you need to drive around. i have that situation. i had a car until three years ago when i said it is a pain in the butt. finding parking is hard. i was fortunate to be in a situation to get rid of the car. a lot of folks don't have that. we are also looking at a situation that goes what do we want to prioritize? parking spots are homes for people. at the end of the day it does frankly suck that is a trade-off we have to figure out because parking does take up space. when tryi
