my corey smith with the san francisco housing -- this is corey smith with the san francisco housing coalition. i want to echo and join in congratulations to director hillis. quite the first meeting, i am sure, and extend an appreciation to everybody involved for keeping this going. we are having conversations with different cities around the bay area and understand the status of city commissions and planning council hearings, and i can say with confidence that san francisco is ahead of the curve, and while none of this is perfect or ideal, just extending a magnitude of gratitude for everyone involved for allowing this to happen. i understand the conversations about accessibility. we want to make sure that everybody does have the opportunity to speak up, so i really want to echo president koppel's comments in trying to make that happen, and we think this will be a unique opportunity to allow additional voices who are not allowed to be a part of the planning process in san francisco because they workd day jobs thursdays at 1:00 in the afternoon. we think this will be more inclusive and allow mo

i'm corey smith on behalf of the san francisco housing coalition. i want to continue on some of the comments from the previous speaker. when the rules change on projects midway through the process, you know, you were talking about the uncertainty associated with that, and that really does add to the overall cost of the building housing. so it's not just a theoretical impact that ends up pushing more dollars down the line, it means that the housing is more expensive to build and it means it will be more expensive for future residents later and so, as you all know, certainty is one of the keys to getting homes built in san francisco and when the rules change and uncertainty is introduced, that creates a problematic situation. so, also, i'm encouraging and requesting a grandfathering clause in this legislation so projects know, hey, these are the rules that you need to follow in order to do something big. we are not going to change them on you down the line and that will encourage more housing to get built in sanfrancisco and in the mission and everywh
