. >>> abc7 news reporter cornell barnard is in alameda. >> we are waiting for the first google ferrys a trial run but talk about your employ he perks, google workers who live in the east bay can commute to the silicon valley by sea. the private ferries are contracted through san francisco bay ferry and will leave from alameda harbor bay terminal to redwood city. google launched a similar service from san francisco ferry to diffuse, perhaps, growing controversy over the private buses that take tech employees down to the silicon valley. we are still waiting for the first ferry to show up but the new ferry service from alameda will last only a week. as far as commuters go, we are still waiting to see how many will show up, and google is, too, they don't know how many employees are actually interested in taking the ferry service and we do see a ferry here. we are not sure if it is the public ferry to san francisco but as far as google goes, this is only a trial run from one week to see how many employ ease are interested. public ferry service is not impacted. >>> thank you, cornell. >>>
