cornell barnard joins us live from the staging area on treasure island. good morning, good morning. all systems are still go for this morning's demolition of the largest remaining pier of the old bay bridge that. implosion is set to go at 7:00 this morning. the pier is in between the two barges you see beyond the new span of the bay bridge. and i have to tell you there are a lot of chp marine units on the bay this morning keeping boaters at least 1500 feet away from that demolition site. now the six-second implosion will look something like this animation. all of it taking place underwater at 20 million pounds of concrete is imploded. caltran said a wooden and steel matt placed on top of the pier will keep debris flying on to the new span of the bay bridge. 600 charges of dine night will make it happen. other debris will be contained by a boom around the pier. this morning's demolition could be called off at anytime if wildlife is spotted in the area. wildlife monitors will be on hand this morning. >> we just want to be sure as environmental stewards that prior to the blast, the poi
