abc7's cornell barnard joins us live from police headquarters. police tell you they are indeed working on improving safety here. >> reporter: that's right. b.a.r.t.'s deputy police chief told me that he knows safety is the top concern of riders. he says he's working to hire more officers. al this as the department searches for a stabbing suspect. take a close look at this man. b.a.r.t. police believe he's the same guy who got into a fight with another rider on board a richmond-bound train, then pulled a knife. >> they were on the same train car, rode together for several stations. there was some type of verbal exchange which escalated into the fight. >> reporter: police say that fight led to a victim being stabbed in the neck and face just as the train was approaching the oakland-fruitvale station friday afternoon. a camera inside the train caught the suspect moments after the stabbing running away from the car and out of the station. it's not the news riders want to hear. >> b.a.r.t. has become very scary and dangerous i feel at note. >> gross.
