cornell barnard, abc7news. dion: one person is dead and another suffering critical injuries after a single engine plane flew into a set of power lines near a marin county airport last night. that fiery crash happened on the east end of the runway at the psammophile aport on smith ranch road. officials say the person who died was a passenger on the single engine cessna four seater. witnesses called 911 to report an enormous flash and then a loud explosion. the lights to the area and then went out. firefighters were first on the scene, reporting the wreckage being tangled in power lines in the marsh. the pilot was airlifted to a nearby hospital and is in critical condition. >> both occupants of the flight had left the psammophile airport earlier that morning and flown into nevada and were making their return flight, both of the occupants of the plane are marin county residents. dion: no identities have released, and investigators are looking into the cause of the crash. activists and members of the harvey milk lg

abc7 news reporter cornell barnard. julian: it is a great time to own an air conditioning business. cornell: yeah. you're certainly right about that. not too bad right now, low 80's in downtown petaluma, according to this temperature sign. temperatures this weekend will spike into the triple digits. a lot of homeowners love gone out with air-conditioning for a long time say they cannot take the heat. extreme heat is moving into the bay area and it seems everyone has concerns. >> it will be a bit tough, because, i work outside. i'm a nurse. i go see patients at their homes. >> we have plenty of preparation, coming here from texas. it's pot all day long. but, i understand, you don't have air conditioning like we do in texas. cornell: some heating and air-conditioning technician say they have not been busier. >> these guys are installing an air conditioning unit for our customer before the heat wave. cornell: elevated comfort owner, matt says he is seeing and air-conditioning boom. on thursday his technicians work to install five new systems across the bay and prepared eight units. the

in the north bay, cornell barnard abc7 news. kristen: we want to check in on the weather.it has been on the cool side. julian: very cool for a while. we know that will not last. we check in with sandhya patel. sandhya: it is summer, as temperatures will really spike later on this week, they are running higher than where they were yesterday. 90 degrees in livermore. 15 in fairfield. 14 in novato. san francisco two and san jose seven. you can see bright sunny skies, look at those temperatures in the 80's from santa rosa to novato. 89 in fairfield, 85 in concorde and livermore. we have fog around over the golden gate. temperatures near the coast, not quite as warm. san francisco, 61, 66 in oakland, 65 in san jose, 55 at half moon bay. we have the fog near the beaches. not everywhere, but along parts of the coastline. here is what will happen. we'll notice high-pressure coming in from the desert southwest. as it builds westward, we are looking at changes heat not just for the bay area, but much of the state later on this week. an excessive heat watch has been issued for friday
