i supported sheriff corpus. i mentored her throughout her candidacy. i knocked doors for myself and for her and i lent her my name and because i did that, i feel a responsibility now to make sure that our community understands the findings of the independent investigation, that they understand that former judge cordell has an impeccable track record, that her report is 100% credible, that there is evidence that the community can see for themselves what's next? now, if the voters don't approve a change with the city charter, what happens in march? what happens with the sheriff? does she just stay on the job? if the voters do not approve a county charter amendment in march, the sheriff will stay in office unless she resigns. i am hopeful that she will still make the right decision and resign so that our community can heal, and so that we can really be confident in public safety in this county. and if the voters decide not to approve the charter amendment, we will we will have to push through and do the best that we can to work together. but, you know, i
