we are airing a special edition at 7:00, california republican corrine rankin will join us with larry. she's an advisory board member of black voices for trump coalition. >>> a chance of rain coming this weekend. this is a live look at san francisco this evening. rob mayeda tracking it all for us. when do we expect the mistiness to start? >> we've seen a little bit of it. picking up a few sprinkles across the hills of the east bay and more offshore and what you're seeing on the radar isn't a lot. i think that's pretty much how the weekend goes. these bands of showers pass through. but depending on where you are it's going to have a role in how much rain you can expect to get this weekend. a third of an inch should be the average. some of the coastal hill tochs the north bay could get close to an inch of rain in sonoma county. as you drop south, by the time you get to san jose, you may not have anything to show for it. combining saturday and sunday. another component to this, high snow levels near 6,000 feet. coming up, we'll let you know the hour by hour timing. when to expect the nor

we'll be joined tonight by corrine rankin. >>> let's switch now to the weather and talk about showers coming back into the picture in time for the weekend. you're looking live in emeryville where the clouds are already rolling in. rob mayeda joins us with a timeline. you said showers in the north bay already. >> we're seeing some of that across the golden gate bridge. it's being overtaken by fog. pretty neat view looking off to the west. yea. some showers into the north bay. our storm ranger, mobile doppler radar fired up. seeing a few of the sprinkles north of san francisco. but most of it in sonoma county and marin county. it's likely those same areas will be the most out of the next 48 hours. the storms itself look pretty ragged offshore. there will be multiple opportunities for bands of showers to move through this weekend with the main impact being the north bay. of an of r north bay mountaintops by the end of sunday. meanwhile, into sbay, a lot less rain as you wrap up the weekend along with high snow levels. you probably noticed how -- we'll see how it impacts the weekend plans
